Tiny pixel particles swirl up from the tablet. Shhhhhh. They spiral into a glowing ring beside Harper’s bed, a calm, square-edged portal hanging in midair.
The light is soft, like moonlight made of cubes. Harper squints, then grins. “Okay… that’s new.” The floating path of blocks eases forward, lining up perfectly with the portal. Each cube gives a tiny, friendly blink.
Harper takes a slow breath and steps closer. The portal shows a hint of blocky hills and a square moon beyond. No roaring, no crashing. Just quiet, gentle pixel wind.
“Guess we’re doing this,” Harper whispers. One more step. Toes touch the glowing edge. Fwoomp. The portal ripples like water, calm and welcoming, waiting for Harper to walk through.
